Regular examinations and hygiene check-ups form a basis of a preventative dentistry plan.
Regular examinations, or check-ups, are a must and form the basis of our preventative dental care plan. Even with the perfect oral hygiene routine you can still develop dental problems that you may not be able to spot by yourself in your own bathroom mirror.
We will give you a thorough oral examination, with oral cancer screening as standard. We strongly believe that prevention is better than cure and recommend an examination at least every 6 months to ensure problems are caught early on and treated when they are minimal, instead of waiting until it hurts and a more drastic and costly solution is required.
More than just a scale and polish
Our hygienist, Mandy, is highly skilled and will professionally clean your teeth using both Hand instruments and Ultrasonic scalers, removing any plaque and tartar, which cannot be removed by brushing or flossing alone. Many patients comment on how much smoother their teeth feel after a through clean. In addition to an ultrasonic scale Mandy will polish your teeth using a special paste removing any superficial stains giving you an instantly clean smile. Mandy also offers Air-Flow Aesthetic Polishing at the practice.
At Town Hall Dental we are also keen to educate patients on the correct technique of brushing and flossing and give advice on how to maintain a good oral health routine to maintain a healthy smile. The practice Oral Health Educator will be happy to help you with this.
